It is June of 2026. I have been married for 50 years to my wonderful husband, Rich, and amazing father to our four children. Ryan is the oldest at 47 and has now been married to Rebecca for 14 years (read their story on the blog page). Jesse is 45. Chelsey is 40 and has been married 10 years. Nina is 34. They are all out on their own now. Chelsey and her husband, Evan, have given us three beautiful grandsons. They are Carter, age 8, and Callan, age 6, and Cooper, age 3 years. We took care of Carter and Callan during their parent's work week until they were 2 years old and Cooper until he was one year old. We have enjoyed the opportunity of bonding with all of them. I am a part-time substitute teacher and love it. Rich is a plumber/pipefitter and retired in Aug. of 2014. We are both very active in our church and love the community experience it provides. We are leading a program called the Good News Club, which is an international organization, at our grandson's elementary school. We love having all our family in town and having many get-togethers.
Ryan continues to compete each year at local body building shows, as well as, Mr. Olympia, held in Las Vegas. He has been competing for 23 years. He has 36 first place trophies, and 7 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 2 bronze medal won at Mr. Olympia. This is an international competition where athletes come from all over the world to compete. He has also been inducted in their Hall of Fame category in the physically challenged divison.

This book is my journey as a mother raising a child with a disability and how I found joy in the process. My son Ryan's story is inspirational to all who hear and read it. When you buy and read this book, I hope he will inspire you!
Ryan has always loved sports and never let his wheelchair stop him from competing. He has tried almost every sport you can modify for a wheelchair. You will be amazed at his accomplishments as you read his story. The medals he wears on the book cover are in track and field events. As an adult he found his passion in body building winning many trophies and medals. He has also become a personal trainer helping others with disabilities.
